We are sure excited and gearing up to put on this fifth annual tribute to our dear friend, Chris. The Western Art Show is slated to be outstanding. We never tire of looking at Chris' art that the gals bring from the Rodeo Hall of Fame. Bill and I house the collection there, for safe keeping and to share all the memorabilia and art with his friends and fans. Some of that collection still makes us laugh and still makes us cry. We are working on the Rodeo Opening and the Tribute to our Troops, and of course, something near and dear to all of us at the rodeo, our special Western Wishes child. Jace Johnson, seven years of age, and the 2008 Western Wishes child, passed away a month after we honored his courage during the rodeo. Jace had a smile as big as the great outdoors that night, as he lived his "wish" to be a cowboy. Knowing Chris, he will be giving him a few pointers on being a great cowboy and a great person from the great beyond. We were blessed to have Chris as a friend!
We have attended every event since it started in 2005. Each year it gets better and better! The Art Show has a wonderful display of Chris' works and the visiting artists are top notch! This year's rodeo should be the best yet, as each year the stock gets better and better. I hope you all will join us!
Hard to believe it is almost here for another year. I work rodeos all over the country and this is the one I look forward to the most. The free art show on Friday night, at the Platte River Resort, is the best one out there. To see all of the great art work for our visiting artists, is just amazing. The talent the Dona and Bill bring in, is of the best quality around.....then to see the collection of Chris' art is something that you should not miss. I have seen this collection many times and I stil stop and look at each piece, like I was seeing it for the very first time...
The rodeo on Saturday night at the Central Wyoming Fairground, has been awarded as the Small Indoor rodeo of the year by the PRCA.....I should recieve this award every year. So much hard work goes in to making this a great event for the contestants and rodeo fans alike. I know that if you would like to attend...there are still ticket at the Casper Chamber of Commerce....the ticket gets you the great rodeo and then stick around for live concert with Dustin Evans and Goodtimes.....featuring Ned LeDoux on drums. Some if you want great rodeo action and entertainment for the whole family,,, head to Casper Wyoming Nov. 6th and 7th 2009...for the Tribute to Chris LeDoux Western Art Show and PRCA Rodeo....When you buy a ticket....it is for the whole seat...But!! You will only need the edge!!! See Ya There....
